Working in publishing (as a technical bookseller) since 1964, I encountered ISBNs on a daily basis. A few minutes ago, I purchased my very first ISBN, for the ebook edition of the Journal of Rudd (1897-1903). It was an easy, and as effortless, as saying: “”I S B N”.
